About Myself
I have been married for 20 years. Everyone needs someone to keep them in line, I have my wife Kim. We have 4 wonderful kids, two boys and two girls from ages of 10 to 17. Most of my free time is spent with my family. My children are very active and I love watching and coaching them with their sports. My children enjoy playing competitive Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Dance and Cheer.
 
We all love the outdoors and like to mountain bike, hike and go camping. We live in the mountains of Utah and love to ski. We are season pass holders at Snow Basin Ski resort where they held the men’s downhill in the 2002 Winter Olympics. If we are not playing indoor soccer on Saturdays in the winter you can find us on the slopes. I also like to snowboard on fresh powder but prefer skiing most of the time (you know, it doesn’t hurt as much when you fall on skis).
 
We love serving our community through various community activities and try to do so often. I am an active church goer and serve in several positions in my church. Helping others is why I started this company and is what brings me the most joy.
 
I enjoy watching good movies and my favorites are sport underdog movies. I believe that Rudy was the first one to get me hooked on them. For those of you that are too young to remember the movie you’ll have to rent it (sorry it’s not in HD). I believe I have watched every one released after 1980. If you have a good one that wasn’t primetime, I would love to know as I could have missed it.
 
I love humor and food. Sunday is a time that we get to cook as a family and there is nothing better than a homemade meal and some fun. As far as food goes I can’t say I really prefer anything over another. I do like to barbeque though. (Yes, even when its 5 degrees outside!) I’d say that maybe a good Chicken Tikka Masala from my favorite restaurant is the only thing that could top a homemade meal.
 
What drives me most is having a positive effect on people’s lives. It’s sad to say I don’t get to experience the transformation as much as I used to but I sleep well knowing that we are helping thousands of families achieve their dreams.

Why I started EPS?
To explain to you the why I did it, I first want to explain to you the history of what happened in my life.
 
In 1994 I was just finishing college with a degree in Business Administration and Finance. At this time I had a buddy in the mortgage industry and si nce he was making money hand over fist he asked me to come join him. Well, not having my degree and not knowing exactly what I was going to do, I accepted.
 
In 1994 and 1995 I made two to three times what I could have with a degree. But I started to notice a trend, clients that I had refinanced just two years earlier were coming back to me to refinance again. Now this was great as it helped me so that I didn’t have to always rely on new clients. However, it didn’t sit well because I knew these people were going into more debt, they were just snowballing the wrong way.
 
So I analyzed what I did with my money the previous years and frankly I couldn’t figure out why I hadn’t paid off all of my debt. I talked to a lot of my repeat clients and they couldn’t figure it out why they hadn’t done it either. So I went to work researching and found a better solution.
 
For the remainder of 1995 I was on a mission to help people pay off their debt and their mortgage. I don’t mean just refinance, I mean pay it off and not just transfer it to some other debt. I created a system that I was teaching my clients how to do. This was great, everyone I refinanced loved it they were going to go home and incorporate it into their finances.
 
I was so excited about this, so in 1995 Financial Insights Inc was started. I started talking to other mortgage brokers they loved it and saw the value in it so they started to take my system and to educate their clients as well. My system was really helping clients change their financial future.
 
Well, at least that’s what I thought it would do. In 1998 I started to get back some of my original clients that I had taught this system to. And guess what? They were no better off. They were coming back to me to refinance a third time to pay off more debt they had accumulated. How could this be? I taught them how to do it.
 
So again I went back to work researching. I called the office of some of the largest groups and people in the country that sell financial information on how to get out of debt. I wanted to know how they were keeping their clients engaged and how they were helping people be successful at achieving their dreams. I was astonished at what I learned.
 
Q: Can you let me know what your success rate is with helping people eliminate all of their debt. A: We are an information company we don’t track that as we are just trying to sell information on how you can help yourself.
 
Astonishingly I couldn’t find any company in the country that actually provided a system to “help” their clients get out of debt. Everyone was in the business of making money by selling information, not a service.

    It was then that I went to work trying to build a system to actually implement the strategies we had developed. For several years we worked with other companies that made payments on behalf of their clients but our system was just too involved for them to administer. They wanted to charge $150 or more a month to provide this service. But I wanted it available to everyone and at $150 a month it’s not. So in 2005 I decided it was time to build the technology to do it all ourselves.
 
We went to work and in 2006 started Debt Free Payment Systems Inc., the number 1 company in the United States that actually provides a service that implements all the strategies to help you achieve your goals and dreams without the hassle of having to do it yourself. And we did it all at a price that everyone can afford.

My most memorable experience with EPS
It is sad to say that I don’t get out to help as many people individually anymore. However, I remember what really motivated me was the feeling I got from knowing I was making a difference.
 
I remember on one occasion I was in a client’s home and I believe that I must have got there just after a heated discussion about finances. I don’t believe the husband was very pleased to have me there. The couple was sitting apart and you could feel the tension. At the end of explaining what we do the wife asked if we could really do this for them. I explained I wouldn’t be here wasting my time or theirs if we couldn’t. The husband then reiterated what I had said.
 
"You can truly get us out of debt, including our home, in 8.7 years. You will then manage all of this? I don’t have to figure out what to pay or when to pay it? All I have to do is have the money in my account and it will be done?"
 
I said “of course, that’s exactly what we do for our clients.” The husband then thanked the wife for setting up the appointment, something I don’t believe came easy for him.
 
A few days later I had to go back to pick up some paperwork. When I got there the house smelled great, like fresh banana bread, one of my favorites. I was met at the door by the husband with a nice firm handshake and a welcoming hello this time.
 
The wife came out with banana bread and a hug and they both thanked me and told me how grateful they were for me.
 
If this isn’t a reward I don’t know what is. Who gets to do a job where the paying customer gives them banana bread and a hug?
 
This is not an isolated instance. Our reps in the field get treated like this all of the time. We have heard thanks for saving my marriage, thanks for saving my home, thanks for helping me be able to retire, thanks for helping me find a way to pay for my children’s education, thanks for giving me more time with my family and children, thanks for relieving a lot of my stress.
 
Finances are a funny thing, they affect everyone’s lives and yet most families don’t talk about them. We don’t talk about them with or friends or relatives or coworkers either. I would wager to say that 95% of people that have debt don’t have a plan past making the next payment. So when someone helps you and can resolve a point of tension it feels like a thousand pounds lifted off your back.
 
That’s what I love about what I do…

How EPS has affected me?
I believe that a country is only as strong as its citizens. Our country is weaker now than we have ever been. As individuals we save less than any other developed country and we have more debt per capita than any other developed country.
 
I want to make this country stronger by helping 1,000,000 American Families get out of debt and increase their wealth so that on retirement day they do not have to be dependent on the government, family members, or charities like so many people are today.
 
Our system has helped thousands of people over the years and we have only just begun.
 
I know we can make this country better one family at a time.
 
This reminds me of the story “The Star Thrower” by Loren Eiseley,
 
One day an old man was walking along the beach. It was low tide, and the sand was littered with thousands of stranded starfish that the water had carried in and then left behind. The man began walking very carefully so as not to step on any of the beautiful creatures. Since the animals still seemed to be alive, he considered picking some of them up and putting them back in the water, where they could resume their lives. The man knew the starfish would die if left on the beach's dry sand but he reasoned that he could not possibly help them all, so he chose to do nothing and continued walking. Soon afterward, the man came upon a small child on the beach who was frantically throwing one starfish after another back into the sea. The old man stopped and asked the child, "What are you doing?" "I'm saving the starfish," the child replied. "Why waste your time?... There are so many you can't save them all so what does is matter?" argued the man. Without hesitation, the child picked up another starfish and tossed the starfish back into the water... "It matters to this one," the child explained.

About Myself
I grew up in Atlanta, GA and moved to Utah after graduating magna cum laude with a B.A. from Lee University. It was in Utah that I met my husband and married in the fall of 2014. We are both very active in our church by teaching children’s classes and we also play together on a worship team, he plays the drums and I play piano and sing. I am also a member of the financial board at my church. When I am not serving at church I enjoy spending time with friends, playing board games, card games, and video games. I also enjoy cooking and baking, reading, and anything crafty.

Why I like working for EPS?
I have been working with EPS for over 5 years and couldn’t ask for a better job. I love the people I work with and truly believe in the mission of the company. I feel that it is incredibly rewarding to know that I am a part of a group that is dedicated to helping people bec ome debt free. It is something that I feel passionate about personally and can honestly say that I love what I do.
My favorite part about working with EPSI 'm not sure I can pick just one thing but if I had to I would say that my favorite part of the job is celebrating with clients each time an account is paid off. I also really enjoy getting to know my clients and feeling like a part of their lives. I am excited for the future of EPS and look forward to where that will lead me

My most memorable experience with EPS
I had one memorable experience with one particular client who I thought was grumpy every time I talked to him. It felt like nothing was ever good enough for him and he would find fault with just about everything I tried to do for him. I was pretty sure he wasn’t happy wit h me, despite my best efforts to win him over with awesome customer service.
Well one day I was out of the office on vacation and he called in and spoke to one of the other program administrators. When I came back to the office the next week there was a note for me to call him back because he wouldn’t let anyone else assist him. He refused to talk to any of the other administrators because he insisted that I was the only person who could help because I was so good at what I did.
I guess he told whomever had answered the phone how amazing I was and how he would prefer to wait until I was back in the office so he could speak with me. It made me feel good to know how much he appreciated me even though he didn’t seem to show it to me directly. Ever since then he’s seemed less grumpy and I find that I actually look forward to his phone calls. I guess you could say we’re sort of friends now.

How EPS has affected me?
I have always thought of myself as someone who is naturally responsible with money. From a young age I was always the one of my siblings to save any money I’d earned with a goal in mind and weigh my purchases carefully. So when I started learning about the company I was g oing to be working for I felt like it could not be more of a perfect fit.
Through working at EPS I have learned the steps to financial success and I am so grateful to have had that opportunity at this point in my life so that I can begin to put them into practice now while I am young. I believe that EPS has set me personally on a trajectory for success and I am excited to be helping others do the same.

About Myself
HI! My name is Kathy and I have thoroughly enjoyed working for EPS over the past few years. I am married, with 3 adult children, and we are awaiting our 5th grand baby! We love the outdoors and do as much hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, and camping as we possibly can. Our famil ies’ favorite day of the week is Sunday because we get to go to church and learn more about our Awesome God and fellowship with our friends & family.

Why I like working for EPS?
The part I love most about working for EPS is getting to know the people I help on a daily basis reach their Debt Free goals. Even though I may never meet anyone in person…I have many clients I could easily call “friend.” I also love working for a company that truly cares about people and their employees.
 

My most memorable experience with EPS
I am very touched when I have heard clients say “I finally have hope again”. I love sharing in the excitement with my clients when they have a debt that gets paid in full and being able to celebrate with them by saying “another one bites the dust” &ndash ; followed by…now which one is next!!
It is very rewarding knowing that we are helping people in such a vital aspect of their lives that leads to such peace and no longer enslaved to debt. They get to see the light at the end of the tunnel!
I work with such a wonderful team of co-workers that are not just working for a paycheck…but sincerely care about our clients and helping them reach their Debt Free goals!

About Myself
I have been married to my sweetheart for over 25 years now and we are raising 3 boys.  I have been doing software development for almost 30 years now and it's fun and a challenge to learn new technologies.  When I'm not working, I’m spending most of my tim e with my family making sure their needs are met.  In the little spare time that I can find, I enjoy reading, cycling, and running.

Why I like working for EPS?
I like working for EPS simply because the people that I get to mingle with are so great.  The environment is always uplifting and positive.  We know we are making a difference in lives.   Of all the different projects that I have had a chance to work on, EPS h as been the most fulfilling.  Knowing and understanding the burden that debt can be in one's life, it is very satisfying to be able to help people lift and ease that weight off our customers' shoulders.

My most memorable experience with EPS
I love finding solutions.  All of my interaction with customers has been second-hand through our wonderful support teams.  Whenever there is a question about some numbers in a calculation, I try to help them through any roadblocks they may have.  In doing so, I get a better understanding of how much our staff works diligently to make sure our customers have the best possible experience they can get.

How EPS has affected me?
I have always been a number cruncher.  I guess that's what led me to doing software development and programming in the first place.  But what has affected me the most working with EPs, second to the wonderful people that I get to work with, is being able to see how our program to get our customers out of debt can have an effect their lives.  I love being able to help people see "the light at the end of the tunnel" and that it's actually closer than they thought before starting our program.
EPS has helped me grow as a programer.  We have millions of transactions and billions of data points that we need to keep secure at all times.  We have to take our security very very seriously.  This is why we have moved our data to the most secure platform aviable.  We encript all of our data and connections with the highest encription platforms aviable and we will only intagrate with companies that take this part of their business very seriously.

Security Statement First and foremost, we take the highest precautions to protect you and your data. As a leader in the bill pay industry our business depends on this. This is not something we take lightly and we want to protect your data from any would be hacker.    
So you know, we always follow standard PCI compliant security protocols. We host all of our data on Azure servers which is owned and operated by Microsoft. We do not host at your local data center or on site but with one of the largest and most secure data hosting services in the world. Microsoft also uses the highest levels of data encryption and security protocols available. You may be interested to know that you can always go to https://www.ssllabs.com to check a website’s security rating. Right now our rating is an A and we check this frequently to make sure that we are always using the best practices. You may find it interesting to know that Wells Fargo, Chase and Bank of America all have a worse security rating than us and are still able to pass the banking CPI compliance standards. We only state this to let you know we keep on top of the banking industry protocols.  These financial institutions are very secure and take security seriously and we bank with them and trust them completely.
The above concerns address our standard data encryption and storage. We have now moved into the data aggregation industry where you can connect your accounts with our systems such that you have access to all your data in one place. This will help us monitor your balances and your payments to make sure everything is running as expected, taking more of the work from you so that you can enjoy your life. This data is very important to keep safe and secure as this is the log in information to your bank accounts and to your credit cards. So you will be happy to know that we do not host or store any of this data, even though our security systems and protocols would permit us to do so. Instead we have integrated with Finicity.
